Digitising Africa's Economy

Powering Business Dreams

TeamApt was founded in 2015 with the vision to digitize Africa’s economy. It does this by building financial platforms for businesses; providing them with all the payment, banking, credit and business management tools they need to succeed.

TeamApt is Nigeria's largest business payments platform, supporting over 400,000 businesses to get paid; processing $100 billion annualized run-rate transaction value, via its products - Moniepoint and Monnify.

These products enable business owners, whatever their digital literacy level, and location, to access the full-service tech solutions, and real-time support, that they need to grow, manage and protect their businesses.

How we started

Founded in 2015, TeamApt’s initial approach to delivering financial happiness was by creating financial solutions aimed at optimizing the core bank back-office operations of partner banks and financial institutions. Our products helped 27 financial institutions improve the service experience for their over 10 million customers.

Making strides

But there was a problem. Fulfilling financial happiness through others left a lot of people excluded from financial services. We needed a shorter, more direct approach to achieve our mission. Using our industry experience, technical depth and customer-first approach, we started working on direct consumer & business-facing products.

After a year of fine-tuning, we launched our direct to business products; Moniepoint and Monnify.

Moniepoint used a network of merchants, our mobile app and POS terminals to offer cash withdrawal, cash deposit, funds transfer, airtime purchase and bill payments to the unbanked.

Since 2019, Moniepoint has:

162,000 Merchants

$53 Billion in transactions value

120 Million Transactions

16 MillionEnd users

With Monnify, formal businesses use our payment infrastructure to accept, manage and make payments. While we give smaller-scale businesses accessible, affordable and convenient short term working capital.

Since 2019, Monnify has:

1,600 Businesses

21% Monthly user growth

4 Million Monthly transactions

$283 Million in monthly transaction value.

Moniepoint is now a business bank.

An all-in-one business solution to help Nigeria’s 41 million small businesses grow, with digital payments acceptance channels, access to working capital and business expansion loans, and business management tools such as expense management (business payments cards), accounting and book-keeping solutions to manage their operations

Fully licensed by NDIC, and PCIDSS certified, Moniepoint offers innovative tech solutions that are easy-to-use, and an extensive real-time support network.

What Next

Over 400,000 businesses depend on TeamApt’s solutions to provide financial inclusion, create unforgettable customer experiences and deliver economic growth.

While exciting, we’re still at takeoff. Most businesses in emerging and frontier markets remain underserved, so we’re just getting started.

The Future

Our mission of bringing financial happiness to a billion people would need us to not only develop products, but also the individuals, teams and the environment to get it done. This is why we are very conscious of our people, values and culture.
